You can delete your pro.perty.ID account and its data at any time. Here’s exactly how it works and what happens.
How to delete
From the iPhone app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. You’ll confirm your identity (sign in again), then confirm the deletion.
From the web: sign in at pro.perty.id → My Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
If you can’t sign in, email [email protected] from your account email and we’ll verify and process it manually.
Before you delete: export your records
Deletion is permanent. Your gear records, photos, and signed inventories may be evidence you want someday — export a copy first from your book’s Settings page (“Export my records”). We’ll offer this again during the deletion flow.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile
- Your gear records, kits, photos, and documents
- Your community activity on the platform
What we keep, and why (the honest part)
- Backups: deleted data disappears from live systems immediately and from encrypted backups when their fixed retention window expires (they cannot be edited mid-window — that immutability is a security feature that protects everyone’s records).
- Signed documents already shared: if you provided a signed inventory to another party (an insurer, a buyer), their copy is theirs — we can’t delete documents out of other people’s hands.
- Minimal legal records: we may retain the minimum needed to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms (for example, a record that an account existed and was deleted).
Timeline
Deletion takes effect immediately on your account; residual backup copies expire with the backup retention window. We process manual requests within 5 business days.
